Kenyon/Harcourt Parish: Tippy Taps and Water Filters

Today the Kenyon/Harcourt Parish group build and distributed tippy taps (http://www.tippytap.org/) and water filtration kits.

Here they are building the water filtration kits.  Simply two covered buckets connected by hoses through a highly effective, back flush-able water filter with a 20 year life span.  Gravity simply draws the water from the higher bucket, through the filter, to the lower bucket, which has a spigot for retrieving water.

Next they built and demonstrated "tippytaps"  These simple devices save lives and reduce illness by providing a simle but effective way to wash hands.  They are so simple - a jug and a string.  When the string is pulled, a stream of clean water is delivered to the hands for washing!
