Belize here we come!

We arrived to Belize two days ago and I just had access to the blog so I am going to share some of the highlights of the trip so far.

When we arrived we stayed in a hotel near the airport and we got to relax and get ready for our extraordinary experience in Belize. The next day we had breakfast in the hotel and we hung out around the hotel till the Nazarene group arrived to Belize, we picked them up and headed to have lunch at the Belize Zoo. I had a great time in the Zoo; growing up in Palestine didn't have the chance to visit zoos and so all throughout my life I have been to a zoo twice and the experience at the Belize Zoo was very unique and memorable.

The Zoo in Belize is very special in its setting and design, it is literally in the jungle and one can have a very close contact with the animals. I also got to see animals that I never saw in my life such as the Jaguar. We've learned that the Belize Zoo is part of a non-profit organization that aims of protecting and helping animals that have been injured, orphaned or born at the zoo. Also, the Zoo serves as an educational facility about the animal that are threatened to extension. This is a very important initiative that is protecting the animals and creating a culture  of commitment to biodiversity.

Later, we left and went to the Nazarene Camp in Succotz and had a delicious dinner at a local restaurant there. People in Belize are very genuine, kind and nice. They are very friendly and they come give you greetings and starts conversations with you.

Peace,
Qossay
