Gotta go to church on Sunday!

Today was a fairly relaxed day. We first got up and had breakfast made by the cooks here at the campgrounds. Then after breakfast we took a short walk to a Nazarene church a few blocks from where we are staying.  Everyone there was very welcoming, supportive, and truly glad we were there. The service was extremely similar to most Nazarene services I have been to or been apart of. The music and songs we sang we're all ones I was familiar with. It was a great time of worship and was really cool to think about how many ppeople all around the world come together om Sundays and other days to worship our God.

After sevice we went back to the campgrounds for lunch. Once finished with lunch we packed up and headed for Guatemala. We we're only about 2 miles from the border so we got there and had to get everything taken care of.  While waiting a little Guatemalian boy walked up to me. I think he was trying to ask for money but I didn't have anything to give him. I forget exactly how it happened, if he already had it out or got it out because the kid came around, but either way Jason (another guy in our group) had a hackie sack for probably close to a half hour Jason and I and this 8 year old Guatemalian boy played catch to help pass the time by. We then got everything taken care of and proceeded to Flores. It wad about an hour an a half drive. The roads here in Guatemala are much better than in Belize and more the the ones we are used to at home. The landscape in Guatemala is different than Belize and a lot more up and down hills.

We got to our hotel just in time to see this beautiful picture!

We got settled in the hotel real fast and then headed our for dinner where we found a nice pizzeria. It was very good and we had fun just sitting around talking and sharing a meal.

Me and a few others decided to go back to the hotel after dinner while some other decided to go out and walk around. Even though we didn't do that much today as far as physical labor alot of us are tired and our bodies are getting used to being in a new place. Tomorrow we will head out in Guatemala to start doing some of the service project.  I can't wait to meet the people we will be helping and really get to know them. We will be here in Guatemala for 4 days working on the projects. It's been a really nice relaxing day before the start of a busy and exciting week! I be sure to update tomorrow on how things go.

Later!
